Member representing the Leningrad region, Gatchina
Alexey Lashmanov is the master of sports in track and field athletics, honored coach of Russia, silver medalist of the Paralympic Games in 1992 and winner of many awards of the European and world championships and other international competitions.
Alexey Leonidovich in 1992 successfully graduated from St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen and as the coach has made significant progress. Among his trainees are the champions of Russia, Europe, and the gold medalists of Paralympics in London.
“I am glad that Russia has won the right to host the Winter Olympics in 2014 and that one of the cities that will hold the Olympic Torch Relay will be our Gatchina! I consider it as a great honor to carry the torch with the flame of the Winter Olympics through the streets of my native city! And I am doubly pleased that together with me this festival parade will be attended by my trainee - the gold medalist of the Paralympic Games in 2012 Denis Gulin".
Alexey is awarded with the diplomas of Russian Olympic Committee, the Governor of the Leningrad Region, the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Leningrad region, administration of the Gatchina municipal district, the medal "80 years of the State Sports Committee of Russia", the medal "20 years of Blind Sports Federation".
